For years I've wondered why so many people decide to move south, all the way to North Carolina, Now I understand. In that approximately 600 miles the weather takes a turn toward acceptable. Mild winters and not too hot summers. The scenery is a bit less knobby but getting used to it wouldn't take long. We've been at friends' house for 3 days now and the birds and animals have captured our attention. The birds that go south for the winter stop here and some stick around all winter. I've been going nuts photographing ducks and geese. Gary and Marilyn, the friends, are big time watchers of wild life.
